Patches the Creepy Doll

Inspired by three things. First the song "Creepy Doll" by Jonathan Coulton from his "Thing of the Week Four". Second an old story my mother once read to me titled "The Patchwork Monkey". I looked it up to find the author and saw it was made into a short film in 2005, but I haven't seen the film and couldn't find the original story. Third, by those creepy, life sized dolls from the 80s, like My Buddy and My Pet Monster.
I think the scary thing about toys is how children imbue them with life through imagination and sheer belief. Later we come to understand the dangerous power that much belief carries.
